About Us

ISRA New Muslims Melbourne is dedicated to supporting new Muslim sisters in their journey of Faith. We provide a welcoming space where new Muslims can connect, learn, and grow. Our programs and resources are designed to offer guidance, community, and support tailored to your needs.

Support We Provide

Our mentorship program is designed to pair new Muslim sisters with experienced mentors who offer personalised guidance and support. Whether you’re looking for advice on understanding your faith, navigating daily practices, or finding answers to your questions, our mentors are here to provide support every step of the way. Through one-on-one conversations and ongoing encouragement, we help you feel confident and supported in your new spiritual journey.

Embracing Islam is a profound step, and we offer support for those who wish to take the Shahada, the declaration of faith. Our team is here to guide you through this important and transformative moment. We ensure that the process is meaningful and provide you with the spiritual and emotional support needed to make this declaration with confidence and understanding.

We host regular social events designed to bring new Muslim sisters together to build connections and foster a sense of belonging within the community. These events are a great opportunity to meet others who are on a similar journey, share experiences, and form lasting friendships. Whether it’s a casual gathering, a shared meal, or a more structured event, our social activities are a welcoming space for all.

Our in-person Educational Workshops and lectures are designed to provide new Muslims with enriching learning experiences. These events cover a wide range of topics, including the fundamentals of Islam, Islamic history, spirituality, and personal development. Whether it’s a hands-on workshop or a lecture by knowledgeable speakers, these gatherings create an interactive environment for learning, discussion, and engagement with instructors and fellow participants.

We offer a variety of online lectures that allow new Muslim sisters to continue learning at their own pace, from the comfort of their homes. These lectures cover diverse topics within Islam, making it easier to access important educational content anytime, anywhere. Whether you’re looking for foundational knowledge or more advanced teachings, our online lectures provide valuable resources that support your spiritual growth.

Understanding and connecting with the Quran is a central part of the Islamic journey. We offer Quran lessons that cater to different levels of experience, whether you’re just beginning to learn or seeking to deepen your connection with the sacred text. Our qualified teachers provide instruction to help you understand the meanings and teachings of the Quran, guiding you through its verses with clarity and compassion.

During the holy month of Ramadan and the celebrations of Eid, we organise special events to foster a sense of community and spiritual growth. Our Ramadan events include Iftar gatherings, prayer sessions, and reflective talks, providing opportunities to strengthen your faith during this sacred time. Our Eid celebrations bring the community together to celebrate the end of Ramadan with prayers, festivities, and joyful activities, ensuring a memorable and supportive experience for all.

“My experience with the ISRA New Muslims Program in Melbourne has been truly transformative. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and supported by a group of sisters who understand the journey I’m on. The program has been a non-judgmental space where I could ask questions, no matter how small or big, and receive thoughtful, knowledgeable answers from scholars and professors. One of the most memorable moments was when one of the team members took me to the mosque for the first time and invited me to join her in prayer. I felt completely at ease, and I appreciated that there was no pressure or expectations. The ISRA community has made me feel like I have a second family, sisters who constantly check in, invite me to events, and include me in every step of my journey. The program has truly been an educational and spiritual journey, and it has given me the confidence to continue growing in my faith, knowing I’m not alone.”

Testimonials

“Being the only Muslim right now in my family, I felt really lonely but after joining ISRA new Muslim, it has been the best decision I’ve made alhamdulillah. I have met new lifelong friends/sisters that are so welcoming and supportive. This group made me more confident asking questions/advice or confining with them about Islam or life in general with free of judgement. I have learnt so much and grateful for the daily Quranic quotes, events and workshops that are helping me build my Iman and staying connected with Allah everyday.”
