Master of
Islamic Studies

This course stands as the most comprehensive postgraduate Islamic studies course in Australia. The course provides in-depth understanding of both classical and contemporary Islamic disciplines, providing you a grounding in Islamic studies while developing your research skills.

It will also prepare you for PhD study, if you wish to pursue that pathway. No prior qualification in Islamic studies is necessary; students who have completed an undergraduate degree from any discipline are eligible.

Subjects

To graduate with the Master of Islamic Studies, you are required to complete 128 points. This consists of 4 core subjects (32 points) and 8 electives (64 points). 

Core Subjects

Select eight subjects as follows: – four 8 point subjects (1 or 2 subjects must be Arabic) – four 16 point subjects (Students are highly encouraged to complete ISL599 Guided Research)

Graduate Certificate in Islamic Studies

If you are not able to commit to a Master progam, then consider enrolling into the Graduate Certificate in Islamic Studies!

To graduate with the Graduate Certificate in Islamic Studies, students must complete 32 credit points. Each unit is worth 8 credit points.
