Finding Strength in the Prophet's (SAW) Approach in Overcoming Adversity
From bush fires to race riots to a worldwide pandemic, 2020 has been a tough year! Thankfully we have the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to give us guidance and help us in making sense of the chaos.
Our guest speakers are;
Mufti Zeeyad Ravat
Mufti Zeeyad Ahmed Ravat is an Australian Sunni Islamic scholar, Mufti, Founder and Director of Daarul Arqam Australia.
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa he began his journey of traditional Islamic learning in the year 1989 and has spent 14 years studying in South
Africa, India, Pakistan and Syria. He completed his hifz at the age of 12 and graduated from the Shari'ah and Ifta courses with high distinction. He then attained a degree in Arabic Studies and ijazaat in Syria.
Mufti Zeeyad has always been in the forefront of humanitarian work. He has directed many campaigns and travelled to dozens of poor countries to deliver aid from Australia.
Dr Suleyman Sertkaya
Suleyman lectures on/research focus is on Sirah and Hadith related subjects for the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation, Charles Sturt University. Suleyman completed his PhD thesis on Sirah discipline. His major interests are Sirah of the Prophet (Biography of Prophet Muhammad) and Sirah Philosophy.
Dr Zuleyha Keskin - Moderator
Zuleyha is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director. Zuleyha co-founded ISRA Australia with the vision to establish university level Islamic studies courses which teach both traditional and contemporary Islamic studies in a university context. This led to the establishment of the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation (CISAC) at CSU.
