This 2-day workshop is for millennial youth looking to teach themselves self-empowerment and self-development tools with an Islamic flare. These workshops will help you to learn from past influential Muslims such as Malcolm X, learn how to land a dream job with interview and resume skills, along with much more.

Title: Role Models of the Past for Influencers of Tomorrow
Speaker: Sourosh Cina
Sourosh Cina is a Law and International Studies graduate from the University of Technology Sydney. He is currently working as the General Manager at Mahboba's Promise, an Australian aid organisation dedicated to orphans and widows in Afghanistan and recently completed his Practical Legal Training at the Refugee Advice and Casework Service. Sourosh has been heavily involved in community work from a young age, especially in his role as a peer to peer mentor for Muslim youth. He continues to be involved in the design and delivery of community projects focused around the needs of young Australian Muslims. Sourosh's passion lies in human rights advocacy and in understanding and addressing the challenges faced by ethnic minorities within Australia.

Speaker: Zeinab Mourad
Zeinab Mourad has a background in community development and is driven in creating positive change in the world and encouraging growth in individuals and the community. Zeinab has long been involved in the community, volunteering at various organisations working on projects, women’s empowerment, youth mentoring, charities and interfaith. She completed her Bachelor of Youth Work in 2014 and her Masters of Islamic studies in 2019.

Title: Awakening the Inner Leader
Speaker: Ekrem Kucukali
Ekrem Kucukali graduated from a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Human Resources at La Trobe University. Starting his career in 2018 as an accountant at Sirius College for 6 months then promoted to a HR Manager position. He has been studying Arabic from Egypt (online) for the past 2 years with 2 months remaining for graduation. Ekrem has been part of the ISRA team since 2018 assisting with events and planning, he is simultaneously enrolled in the Masters of Islamic Studies at ISRA. Ekrem has a passion for seeking knowledge in various topics and utilising his time wisely

Title: Landing the Dream Job
Speaker: Aileen Ma
Aileen has been working in the property and construction industry since 2006 whilst finishing a double agree at the University of Melbourne majoring in construction management and property development. After three years of working on some of the globally renowned projects such as Burj Khalifa, Aileen decided to roll her sleeves up and get her hands dirty by working onsite with builders and enriching her site experiences. Visiting sites by sites, negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers, managing multidisciplinary consultants and variety of demanding sometime unreasonable stakeholders, Aileen has grown into a confident project manager who oversees the development cycle and delivered some fascinating projects across Victoria. With now over a decade of experience in the building industry across both private and public sectors, Aileen is determined to challenge the status quo on a daily basis as a visible Muslim female building professional and is passionate at contributing for the society by building some meaningful projects for the community.
All participants who complete the workshop will receive a certificate.
Morning tea will be provided.
