Melbourne you asked and we made it happen !

Flying all the way from Sydney is Dr Mehmet Ozalp, Director, Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation, Charles Sturt University, bringing you the Ottoman Empire public lecture. Entering the world stage at 1299 as a small polity at the periphery of the collapsing Seljuk Empire, Ottomans have built an empire that spanned over three continents dominating world history for more than 500 years. This lecture will explore the new world order conditions in the turbulent thirteenth century that gave birth to the Ottoman Empire as well as the internal dynamics and values that underpinned their success as a destined world super power.

We look forward to seeing you then.
